M7: Escape The Matrix

This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes... OR perhaps you take the purple pill and find a way to interdimensionally travel through an adventure-filled mashup of memes and pop culture references in order to find a way to.. Escape The Matrix.
M7 follows the characters of Neo and Wheatley in a strategic adventure game with one main purpose: Escape The Matrix.
Along the way, you will encounter a connected ecosystem of universes ranging from Star Wars to Spongebob that require you to make important choices, fight strange enemies, and produce side-splitting laughs along the way.
You will go from zero to hero as you unlock and develop new skills and powers along your journey
In M7, it is not uncommon to find ordinary things in ridiculous places and ridiculous things in ordinary places, and it is up to you to utilize what is available to you to.. Escape The Matrix.

Dear John Matrix, your game is really good, I found it mystifying but worthwhile. However, I have come to an impasse; I accidentally bound the inventory key to my left mouse button and I cannot fix it in-game, nor can I find the configuration files, meaning I am permanently softlocked and cannot use the menus or rebind the controls. I love this game, but I wish I knew how to un-cuck my controls, thank you and have a beautiful day/evening/night
Have you tried editing the registry? (Matrix hint: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Se7en\M7)

Very fun game to speedrun
Still fun to speedrun.
You know, I never attempted to speedrun this game myself, so you currently are the true world record holder! Studs should erase in both the big and mega succ, but I find having your death count stay with you to be a gentle reminder of how much trial and error it takes to get something right. Super awesome that you made this speedrun though, and I'm glad you've enjoyed the game this far!
bugs, or intentional?
-one of cortana's attacks doesn't complete
-steve disappears if you have the sword, so you can't give it to him
-smaug doesn't appear, locking you in the room without teleport access
not expecting an update or anything, but it would be a shame if the steve thing is a bug. at least you can escape the matrix without it.
You're not the first to point out random bugs that appear (its quite a big game with lots of room for error), so I appreciate when someone points out these errors. I will definitely look into fixing those soon (as well as some more bugs I have found after I released it) and I'll send out an updated version. If you find any more bugs, feel free to reach out and let me know!
if you for sure will be releasing an updated version, please add an easy way to wipe all save data. (aside from editing a certain something)
in speedruns, we might try to do an "all achievements" thing. also, being able to completely wipe save data would be a nice failsafe just in case some crazy sequence of events bricks the game.
I never anticipated people wanting to speedrun an "all achievement" run, but you did bring up a good idea, so I have added the functionality to reset your achievements by committing the mega succ (Key combo can be seen in your controls). I have also fixed the errors that you pointed out and released an update for download! Feel free to continue pointing out errors as they appear.

I finally understand the true nature of the Matrix we all live in as humans, and what its Architect left for us in order to escape it.

I'm glad you made it out alive! I'm glad someone was able to beat it without me giving hints every 2 minutes. If you have friends or enemies that you would like to torture, feel free to send them into the matrix.
I couldn't do it alone. I had to get the help of multiple people. We explored it as a team and shared notes. We even found the credit pill.
But there are still a handful of unsolved mysteries. Items and characters that we can't solve. So we'll continue to poke around in there until we're satisfied.
I am one of those people, i am routing a speedrun now that we know how to beat it, in between solving what the heck the sock is used for.
This is easily the most player-hostile game I've ever played.
Whoever you are, I want you to know that this torture device has been eating away at me for weeks now.
I hope something interesting is at the end of this infernal maze, if I survive.
